The meeting was held at the
1. The agenda was adopted unanimously in a show-of-hands vote following a motion from Commissioner Green, with one change. The application from Sabor Catering for an ABC license will be heard before the discussion on the Curtis Chevrolet site development project.
2. In a unanimous
show-of-hands vote following a motion made by Commissioner Grant, the
Commission adopted the following motion: "We support the designation of
landmark status for the Sheridan Theater and its adjacent Park and Shop retail
stores located at
The vote followed presentations and discussions with James Ortega, an attorney representing the Theater's owner, Hazel Broadnax, the President of the Emory Beacon of Light, Inc., a community group with a grant to install a new facade on the Theater and the Shopping Center, Patsy Fletcher, of the D.C. Office of Historic Preservation, and Peter Selfton, of the D.C. Preservation League.
3. In a 4-0-1

The vote followed a presentation and discussion with one of Sabor's owners, Commissioner Grant, and Merrit Drucker, a D.C. resident familiar with the business who supported granting the license.

Renderings are available and they agreed to put the designs on the web and to provide additional hard copies of the plans to the Commission.
