- Underlying much of the discussion of development along the Georgia Avenue corridor is the
Georgia Avenue Master Plan.
- A proposal for a pawn shop at the corner of Fern and Georgia, the southern entry point of the Gateway section of Georgia Avenue, has been the cause of much controversy. A bill sponsored by Ward 4 Councilmember Muriel Bowser (see video of markup -- discussion starts around 13:30) affirmed that ANCs should be given great weight in the licensing of pawn shops, and ANC 4B passed the following Georgia Ave Pawn Shop Resolution. The license has been granted, but further action may be taken by the ANC and/or neighborhood groups.
